Advice from Former Students
Please read the comments from my prior students. My students can choose to write on the Wisdom Wall after each semester. The comments left by departing students are shared with the next semester's students during the first week of class. It's amazing to read the fabulous advice students share!
Introduction to Composition (SAC 061)
Hi Ms. Carey,
I would like to take the time to thank you for the wonderful knowledge that you shared with me in English 61. I learned a lot from your class this semester, especially those cheater hints that you gave us. (lol) You made the class very exciting in my point of view, and you made the class look easier than it was. Thank you for taking the time with the essays that I gave you to look at. Your grading was fair and your teaching was understandable. So far, your one of the best English teachers, if not the best, I’ve ever had. You’ve helped understand English better, since this is not my best subject, once again THANK YOU. I’m looking forward for taking your English 101 class online
Warm Regards - Chris (Spring 2011)
Freshman Composition (SAC 101)
Instructor Carey,
One of the few teachers that you will always remember and thank for all the knowledge and skills she taught you. The BEST ENGLISH TEACHER!! She is very dynamic, funny, pleasant and skilful teacher. I promise you will learn English and be grateful for taking her classes; you won’t regret it. Thanks to her and the English skills she taught me, I have been able to keep good grades on the assignments from the different classes I had taken.

Hello Professor Carey,
As a English as a second language student, composition classes are always hard for me. However, thanks for your tremendous help, I finally have one more beautiful A on my transcript. I have applied your approach in writing essays (formal outline, rough draft, final draft) for my other GE classes and it worked like magic. Recently, I got 100% for an essay in my Political Science class. More importantly, I am no longer afraid of writing. Thank you for giving me the confidence, I am very grateful for what you have taught me.

Children's Literature (SAC 270)
Hi Ms. Carey,
I wanted to send you a million thanks for making my back to school comeback so much fun and not so stressful. Well maybe a little stressful but not so much that I couldn't handle. I always looked forward to attending your class and if I may be perfectly honest this was my first time not skipping a class.
You made the class fun with the stories of your family and the interpretations that you gave regarding the books you presented to us. You explained many of the stories so we can understand and possibly relate to them which made it easy to follow along and participate in.
So again a million thanks for making the class enjoyable and now am feeling pretty confident in the future classes that I would like to take.
